E-BIKE – MEGAVALANCHE ALPE D’HUEZ 2026

All E-Bikes Are Welcome!

The Megavalanche has always evolved alongside mountain biking. Today, with the rapid development of new electric drive systems and E-MTB technology, it is only natural that our regulations evolve as well.
Our objective is simple: allow every rider to take part, while ensuring fair competition for everyone.
To achieve this, we follow the current UCI regulations governing E-MTB competition.

One Race, Two Classifications

All E-Bike riders will compete together in the same Megavalanche race.
The only difference is the classification, ensuring fair competition between the different motor technologies while remaining aligned with the standards applied at international events.
Our philosophy is simple: everyone should be able to race with their own bike, while maintaining fair and meaningful results for all competitors.

Two Motor Categories

UCI E-Bike (UCI-Approved Motors ≤ 750 W)

This category is reserved for bikes equipped with a motor included on the UCI list of approved motors, with a maximum peak power output of 750 W.

Riders in this category will compete for:

  • the Overall (Scratch) Classification;
  • Age Category Classifications.

E-Bike Open (Non-UCI Approved Motors or > 750 W)

To reflect the rapid evolution of E-MTB technology, bikes equipped with:

  • a motor not approved by the UCI;
  • or a motor producing more than 750 W of peak power,

are also welcome to compete in the Megavalanche.
These riders will compete in a dedicated category:
E-Bike Open, with its own Overall Open (Scratch) Classification.
